How to care for and store hats

basic care

Hats are basically non-washable.

Please note that washing the hat may cause the hat to lose its shape or be damaged.

Here, we will guide you on how to take care of your skin after wearing it on a daily basis.

That said, hats, just like clothes, will naturally become more damaged if worn for a long time, and need to be replaced, repaired, or replaced.

With that in mind, please refer to the care instructions.

Caring for the slipper

If there is dirt on the inside of the hat (commonly known as bottle leather, hat band), etc., wash it with lukewarm water and a neutral detergent.

Soak a towel in it, wring it out firmly, and wipe off the dirty part while beating it.

When drying, place the hat in a well-ventilated area with the slivers facing outward and the ceiling of the hat down.

*Slide exchange is available at any time.

Hat body - Felt material

beaver, rabbit, wool, cashmere

FELT HAT, etc.

Beaver hat body This felt is made of only the inner hair between the hair and the leather.

It has long been popular as a luxury hat due to its water resistance and luster.

It is more resistant to water than other felt materials, but it loses its shape after being covered in rain, so it is not recommended to wear it instead of an umbrella like the old people did.

It is a material that can be worn for a long time with frequent brushing.

Rabbit hat body

Felt made from rabbit hair.

Like a beaver, the hat body is glossy and dense, and is considered to be the second most expensive material after the beaver.

The mold may collapse due to rain or moisture, so if it gets wet, wipe it off with a dry towel and dry it in a well-ventilated place.

wool hat body

Felt made from sheep's wool.

Unlike others, it is characterized by its fluffy volume.

Due to the characteristics of the material, it is weak against moisture and loses its shape when wet, so please do not wash it with water.

Hat body - natural material

Panama (Tokiwa Grass), Buntar, Raffia...

STRAW HAT, SUMMER HAT, etc.

Due to the material, it is very weak against water and loses its shape when wet.

Never wash with water.

To remove dirt such as sweat, wipe with a cloth that has been soaked in hot water and wrung out well, then wipe with a dry cloth, then dry well in a well-ventilated shade.

Due to the nature of the material, it may crack or discolor.

Please take extra care when handling.

fabric

CAP, CASQUETTE, HUNTING, HAT, KNIT CAP, etc.
We do not recommend washing the hat as it may cause the hat to lose its shape or shrink.
If you are concerned about odors such as sweat, please use a deodorizing spray for clothing.
*If you send it to a cleaning shop, the texture may change depending on the material.
Please be sure to check and consult with the cleaning shop.
*For washing machines that do not use water (types that use ozone or heat energy), some materials are vulnerable to heat. Please check in advance as the heat generation temperature changes depending on the equipment.

Storage method

Place the hat with the brim rolled up on a flat surface.
For the type with the brim down, put a sponge underneath and store it so that the angle of the brim is not disturbed. *In place of the sponge, it is possible to use a paper pattern or cardboard cylinder.
At that time, put thin paper inside the hat.
For regular care, brush the felt to smooth the flow. *For materials with long bristles, brush along the flow.
*If you do not have long hair, brush counterclockwise.
